Berg – the leading manufacturer of Go Karts across Europe – launched the balanz bike to great fanfare two years ago. Berg has a long establised reputation in the karting field and they are famous for their build quality and extensive spare parts range. Cheaper manufacturers come and go and rarely offer spare parts – those who choose the Berg range of karts are guaranteed their kart can be updated and repaired for many years to come.
There are two versions – the Bazzic XL and the Extenz XL – the main difference being that the Extenz has a gear system which makes it a great deal more practical in areas with slopes and gentle hills. We emphasise the gentle part of this. Due to the riding level of the Balanz bike it is not that practical an option on uneven gradients – although easily capable of getting up an incline on a flat road.
We have two in the office which are used for jobs around the area – both have been fixed with a flag accessory which attaches to the bike and means it is more visible to cars. However the fun really begins when you take the children out. The management have two children and say that with the children on scooters and the adults on the balanz bike you are all travelling at the same level – allowing them to chat to the children as they go along. There are stories that an adult, two children and two scooters have all been transported home on a balanz bike – resulting in a tired father but happy children.
