The one thing we enjoy the most here at I Like to Moov It is the fact that our Berg Go-karts bring so much joy to so many people, kids and adults alike. Of course, when partaking in fun and games with great toys, there must be an element of safety put in place, so this week we share our best tips for keeping yourself and those around you away from harm, when using our go-karts:-Give the driver plenty of space when they’re zooming around- you definitely don’t want them crashing into you! It also means they can enjoy complete freedom when using their go-kart, which you can do too, once it’s your turn.
-For younger children, it may be a good idea to keep close behind when they’re using the go-kart. If you’re feeling extra cautious, wrist and knee pads can help avoid other bumps and scrapes.
- Stick to smooth surfaces in parks or on commons; riding around on grit means that it can fly up, or make for any unhappy landing if the driver becomes unbalanced.

Better Go-Kart Track for 76 Golf World

Punters (or should that be putters?) at a well-established golf course/sports centre in Florida are to be treated to a brand new go-kart track in the very near future. Steve Coy, general manager of 76 Golf World (so called because it lies on State Road 76), says that the company are waiting to been granted permission to build a new, state-of-the-art, polished concrete track, the cost of which will come to just under $100,000, and on which only licensed drivers will be allowed to take to the wheel. After it’s finished, thrill-seekers will be able to get themselves just that- a faster and more hair-raising ride. Go-Karts Help Build Formula 1 Champions

A recent report penned in a popular Dubai newspaper publication has said that, with such strong evidence that becoming involved with the go-kart world at a young age is how Formula 1 champions are made, this is where the United Arab Emirates’ search for the next big talent in this field should be focussed. Paul Velasco, the communications manager at Dubai Autodrome, expressed his eagerness to support youngsters in discovering go-karting, as it is in this field, he said, they find out whether they really have an affinity for the sport, and potentially a talent which could take them further. As part of this new scheme to encourage children in exploring go-karting, a new facility at Yas Marina Circuit – a dedicated 800-metre kart track- will be the first open-to-all track within the city’s limits, and will be ready for use by November.Young racing hopeful from UEA Mohamed al Mutawaa, spoke of how he wishes he had had the opportunity to be taught properly from a young age, as children with access to these new facilities will now have; at seventeen, he has only been racing for two years when he would have liked to have been racing for twelve.

The Perfect Go-Karting Soundtrack

This week’s blog, dear readers, does exactly what it says on the tin/in the title. We thought it was high time that we shared some of our most favourite go-karting tunes with you- songs that we love to crank up on the iPod and then race around the park as thought we’re incredibly professional. Or something. We hope you find as much joy in them as we have:The theme for ‘The Great Escape’: A nice, easy and jolly tune to begin your playlist. Particularly excellent for fantasising that you are in fact on a great adventure, and must complete missions in order to escape the clutches of your arch nemesis. This may, in fact, be your Mum.
Driving in My Car (Madness): The most obvious choice, perhaps, but it really is a corker for getting the adrenalin pumping on your Berg go-karts adventure.
Sweet Caroline (Neil Diamond): Ok, not strictly about driving, or any sort of motorised activity, but we like the tune, and the name of the most popular vehicle with an engine is hidden somewhere in the title.

Go-kart driving Dream becomes a Reality Show

Imagine this: you grow up fantasising about racing go-karts. One day, you discover that the go-karts you’re driving really are super big, with real engines, and there you are behind the wheel. Ah, really the stuff that dreams are made of. But what if, one day, you discovered that you were to become a reality television star, and the world would not only know of your passion, but be able to witness the struggle that you faced to get to where you wanted, and therefore be very sympathetic and loving of your person as a result? A fire-fighter from Portsmouth has been taking his hobby of building go-karts to the next level-and has in fact been able to sell a bucket of them, despite the public being cautious about spending money on luxuries since the beginning of the recession.Barry Smith, helped along by wife Yvonne, came up with the idea for KMX Karts in 2002, and spent many an hour developing the idea for the karts- which the company refers to as ‘trikes’- in his workshop, in between shifts at the fire station. Having come runner up in the New Business Excellence Awards last year, Barry has big plans for his go-karts, and is hoping to increase the number of suppliers in the USA, make them available at British campsites, as well as break the rental market with them, appealing to people who want a quick way to get to work that’s healthy and kind to the environment.

If they’re good enough for the most famous, wealthy and most beautiful people on the planet, then they’re certainly good enough for us. To celebrate the recent 9th birthday of the oldest Jolie-Pitt sprog, Brad and Ange took the whole family to a go-kart track, to let the little ones experience the thrills and spills of an exciting and adrenalin-filled activity. Young Maddox had the treat of having the entire site of Go Kart World in California to himself, along with his siblings and pals, on August the 5th, the date of his coming into the world. That’s right, fellow Berg Toys fans, Toy Story 3 is here, and taking the cinematic world by storm, bringing thousands of families into picture houses all over the place. For many, it’ll be trip to see a lovely, entertaining and relaxing film, but for us, there’s more to it than that. Berg Go-Karts at another Fund raiser

We recently caught wind of a story from halfway across the world, Canada to be exact, where locals in Saint John gathered in the streets on the last weekend of June, to see kids from the area build and then race their own go-karts. The event was organised by Kids ‘n Karts, the fundraisers for The Joshua Group, who help at-risk children live a better quality of life. There are hopes that the proceeds from the day will help fund a summer camp for the children who are helped by the charity, from all across Canada.There really is nothing we like better than hearing about fund-raising events, about people coming together and helping those less fortunate, particularly if there are go-karts involved. If you’re thinking of hosting your own event, why not bring in the pennies with a Berg go-kart building competition, just like the kids in Saint John were able to participate in, and give them something to remember for a long time to come.
